CC Design Manual
Little did I realise in August 2007, when I began to download my knowledge and ideas about CCs onto computer, that I would still be here a year later revising, refining and rewriting.
The Good News (I hope!): the end is now in sight.
I completed a first draft that was circulated in December 2007. After very useful feedback from about 12 people I went back to the drawing board and started to rewrite.
The structure is now much clearer:
CC Stories project
CC Stories is a project to gather real stories about Community Currencies from those who know - the participants. The purpose is to tell the world how CCs bring benefits to individuals and communities, and how we can better organise and publicise them.
Please tell your story - the highs and the lows, the benefits and the heartaches - by answering the questions below. The questions should take no more than 20 minutes.
If you change your mind and want any part of your contribution to be removed from record, you may tell us at any time and we will remove it.
German complementary currencies lead the way...
I recently attended gatherings of the two major complementary currency movements in Germany: Tauschring http://www.tauschring.de/home.htm and
Regiogeld http://www.regiogeld.de/ .
Edgar Cahn in the Guardian Newspaper
Edgar Cahn tells his life story and the story of time banking to the Guardian newspaper in the UK: http://society.guardian.co.uk/communities/story/0,,2186984,00.html
Edgar has inspired the global time banking movement with his vision, energy and commitment to social justice. His philosophy and core values of Co-Production have inspired me deeply and I have enjoyed his humble company on several occasions.
I continue to develop practical tools and approaches such as the Co-Production Workshop to show people how to translate this philosophy into practice.
Value for People blog launched
Well here we go into the Blogosphere!
A bit about Value for People, why it was set up, what I hope it will achieve and a bit about work in progress.
You'll find the aims of Value for People (I'll call it V4P for short) on the website. Basically, after 14 years of experimenting with community currencies (CCs) as an administrator, coordinator, chair of a core group, promoter, lecturer, trainer and writer, I want to share the fruits of my experiences, in order to improve the practice of CCs.
